Family Immigration

Family immigration involves identifying the U.S. relative who can sponsor the foreign individual, and then submitting two-step paperwork for a green card (or, just for a temporary visa.)  The categories of family sponsored green cards are:

  • Immediate Relatives:  Parents, spouses and children (under 18) of U.S. citizens
  • FB-1:  Unmarried adult sons and daughters of U.S. citizens
  • FB-2:  Spouses and children of Green Card holders
  • FB-3:  Married sons and daughters of U.S. citizens
FB-4:  Brothers and Sisters of U.S. citizens (a category that may soon be eliminated by law)
