Paralegal

The Paralegal will assist lawyers to assemble and submit corporate, business, and individual immigration filings to US and foreign government authorities.  Prepare forms, company support letters and other legal writings and affidavits on behalf of client companies and applicants. 

Some of the Daily tasks for the Paralegal will be:

  • Organize and maintain detailed archives of case documents and data in paper and electronic filing systems.
  • Analyze similar case filings for structure and substance to plan and prepare multi-step cases with meticulous detail.
  • Check applicants’ abilities, education, skills, financials, family members and sort information under regulatory subsections of visa categories.
  • Record identity and status documents and calendar future actions regarding status expirations and case starts.
  • Find and write relevant information about corporations in particular industries including engineering, construction, mining, and finance.
  • Interface with corporate clients, accountants, and other external professionals to glean information about case specifics and liaise communications on sensitive information and financial data about people and companies. 
  • Prepare foreign outbound immigration filings following legal framework of foreign rules of Schengen countries, Canada, Latin America and Asia. 
  • Organize exhibits for filings. 
  • Utilize cloud-based software including MS Word, Outlook, OneNote, Excel and immigration tracking software to keep data and notes.

 Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • College Graduate with an Associate’s degree in Paralegal Studies, Economics, Business, related.
  • The candidate is expected to have 36 months of experience in a related occupation:  Immigration Paralegal, Consular Assistant, International Trade Assistant, related.
  • The related experience must include communicating and assembling corporate and individual immigration cases, preparing outbound visa, maintaining detailed archives of cases.  
  • Demonstrable experience also must include liaising sensitive information and financial data about companies
  • Must know MS Office.
